check out my review for the blog tour on the blog today!! ❤
New Orleans belongs to me.
You don’t know my name, but I control everything you see—and all the things you don’t.
My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met.
I didn’t need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt.
To have her in my debt.
She doesn’t know she caught my attention.
She should’ve been more careful.
I’m going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her.
It’s time to collect what I’m owed.
Keira Kilgore, you’re now the property of Lachlan Mount.*Ruthless King is book one of the Mount Trilogy*
I thought I was ready for that cliffhanger; but boy oh boy I wasn’t – I really wasn’t! How do I even describe what I am feeling right now?
Meghan March is an unequivocal favorite of mine – I love her heroes, her heroines and her writing style that sucks me right in without even giving me a chance hold the frack on; because I know she will be giving me one hell of a ride! And that’s exactly what she gives us in the first book in the Mount Trilogy!
Disclaimer: Make sure you are a MATURE ADULT before you pick this book up! And it ends in a cliffhanger; so if you are okay with waiting for a month before the next book releases, then go ahead!
Keira Kilgore is a recent widow and the CEO of a distillery, that’s not been in the black for a while now; but what she didn’t expect was that her recently dead husband put her in the crosshairs of a man who has no legal identity but is the King anyways – Lachlan Mount, a man whose reputation precedes him in ways that everyone knows not to cross him.
And that’s all that I am going to give ya’ll in the way of the plot!
“There is no way I want to be in the dark with this voice.
He is not a ghost. He is worse.
He’s the frigging boogeyman, whispered about in shadows but never mentioned in polite company, almost as if saying his name will make him appear.
And no one wants that.”
This is the first book in the trilogy; so I went in knowing that it would just give me a bit of foundation to the both these characters and slowly start revealing their background and it did; but mostly of Keira’s – and this part was also mostly told in her POV; with a couple in Mount’s POV.
But as the first book, it does its job freaking well! It gets the reader invested in Keira and Mount’s start – and it also gave me mixed feelings; Mount is a bad guy, an Anti – hero to be exact, but he has fascinated me from the time I met him in Beneath The Truth (Read My Review), but he honest to freaking heavens, scared me in this one – so I am still keeping my fingers crossed, hoping for a little bit of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She’s also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she’s ever had. She loves hearing from her readers at meghanmarchbooks@gmail.com.
