Blog Tour – Review: Aiden (Vested Interests #2) by Melanie Moreland

Today we are celebrating the release of AIDEN, the second book in the Vested Interest series by Melanie Moreland. Check out the teasers and buy links below.

The Vested Interest series includes 3 books: Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox.

Three young men meet in university and form a lifelong friendship.

Their pasts dictate the men they are, but their present shapes their future.

What happens when these men meet the one person they are destined to be with? Can they fight their feelings and walk away? Or will they each succumb and learn the sweet agony of love?

Haunted by memories of his past, Aiden plays the part of the happy-go-lucky friend. Always ready with a teasing smile or a joke, he is good at hiding his pain.

Using his impressive physique as a shield, he keeps his past buried beneath his rugged exterior.

Except, one woman sees through his façade.

Her green eyes see too much, even as her body tempts him.

Even as his heart yearns for her.

Cami is determined to make him realize that he is worthy of being loved.

He pushes her away at every turn, yet finds himself unable to keep her at arm’s length.

Who will win this battle of love?

Bentley (Read My Review) was my first book by Melanie Moreland; and I absolutely adored the sweet and delightful romance between two opposites – one who was a stickler for rules and a free spirit; so I was doubly excited for the next book about BAM boys – and I knew it was also going to be a favourite of mine as well!

Thus, when I had Aiden land on my Kindle; I was also expecting another sweet and delectable romance; yet what I got was so much more!! Ms. Moreland had the ability to pretty much surprise me and I never even knew it!

Cami And Aiden met in Bentley – and it is then that the foundations to their unconventional relationship is laid down in the first book of Vested Interests!!

But what we find out in this book is that while Cami and Aiden had a connection that ended in a physical relationship; yet now we find out in reality that while Aiden has feelings for Cami; he doesn’t really think he can handle an adult relationship.

It was easy to see right off the bat that Came was pretty much made for Aiden (I mean, I know she was, but you know what I mean!)She understood Aiden in ways that even Aiden himself refused to see, mostly because of his internal fear. She cared for him and it was easy to see that while she didn’t know it herself; she loved him in ways that Aiden believed himself to be unlovable.

And while it irritated me at first, for I couldn’t honestly not understand why Aiden wouldn’t even give relationship with Cami a chance; but as I slowly delved into the psyche of Aiden, I realised that the fears he had were real, and I started to lose hope for both of them.

But here’s what I needed to remember that there was a reason why I adored Ms. Moreland’s first book before. She writes amazing romances; and while Aiden goes more into the Angst-y territory was no reason for me to actually not trust that she wouldn’t deliver again. And she does; in a different way to the first book, but she does in a way that breaks my heart and mends it in the same book!

The friendship, the deep abiding loyalty between the BAM boys remains the core of this book as well – it is this friendship that saved all three of them when they all desperately needed it.

Bentley still remains my favourite (there is something about the whole buttoned up men; that just makes me wanna ruffle them up!!)but Aiden comes a whole lot closer – I also have to say that Max’s story has me all intrigued!!

If you adore romances where you think you know where it is going to go, yet love the fact that author ends up surprising you; get yourself a Melanie Moreland book! You won’t be disappointed.

New York Times/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of twenty-seven-plus years and their rescue cat Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She’s learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

  1. Thank you again for an absolutely AMAZING review! I am so glad you understood and stuck with Aiden. It’s hard when someone pushes you away, but once you get deeper – you want to wrap him in a blanket. Maddox again will be different. Each book as I write it surprises me the direction the characters take me. I can’t wait to hear what you think!
