Lori Foster is the author that got me into contemporary romance again – somehow I had fallen of the bandwagon, but when I checked out her books, I remember being enamored not only by her writing style but her plot twists and the characters she introduced.

But her Ultimate Series, has become one of my favorites and Armie a hero that I have been waiting to know intimately 😉

Armie is a scoundrel and a playboy – he loves being as outrageous as he can be, be it with women or with his fighting, but he really hates is limelight – not because he doesn’t believe that he is good enough, but because he has a dark secret in his past that he really wants to forget – but like all things that can’t be ignored, his past does come back to haunt him.

Merissa has been in love with Armie ever since she has known him – her brother’s best friend. But a traumatic incident brings both of them together (as in closer, you pervs!) – it creates a snowball effect n their lives.

I had been looking forward to reading Armie’s story – majorly because he is such an enigma – for with his playful exterior hides such an angsty past that it took everything in me not bundle him up and cuddle him (I couldn’t, of course, for he is fictional. Sad!). The fact was simple, he never believed that he was good enough for his Stretch, and assumed that everybody felt that way too, including his best friend Connor.

I loved the simple and the easy connection, Armie and Merissa had with each other – and while they had been dancing around their attraction for far too long, I had expected their coming together to be explosive, but really it was more like an instant thing, which I honestly loved.

There is not much drama in the relationship here, but the plot is rich with it. Not only are there ex-boyfriends and secrets in the past – there is also the wonderful friendships of the gym and the MMA scene. So many characters that I am so interested in and I really hope that Lori gets around to writing their HEA’s as well 😀

Trust me, Lori Foster books are a must read for anyone who loves a little bit of suspense with their romance and alpha heroes with a side of possessiveness and tenderness ❤
