🗡 A book that you had really high expectations from; but it never really met the standard that you set for it? 🤔 • 📚 BOOK REVIEW - #FWMusings 📚 • Infinity Son by Adam Silvera was THAT Book for me - with magical powers, phoenix and the idea of a chosen one who is also gay and out - it had the makings of a great fantasy debut for a loved contemporary author! But somehow, even though this is not a huge book; but it took all my will power to actually finish the book 👀 While I loved the fact that a queer character is just an accepted part of the world; in fact it is actually a foregone conclusion like heterosexual characters! And at the start, it was a joy to see a mixture of the contemporary world with fantasy elements - in fact for the first 100 pages, the story just flew; although there were cracks forming even then! Multiple PoVs (which I usually love) and the expectation of the author that we, as readers, would already know all about the world without even giving us the exposure to the world - just added to the chaos of the plotline! How many books do you take along when you are travelling? Or should I say what’s the maximum limit for the books you take along when you are travelling 🧳 😂 • I present here, the two physics books I took along for a 4 day trip this trip - and I won’t even include the e-books I had on my Kindle & iBooks App on my iPad 😂😂 • And the best part about travelling is that I find time to finish books without being distracted - take for instance; I finished “The House of One Hundred Clocks” by A. M. Howell @amhowellwrites within the 5 hours drive - and it’s such an engaging middle grade mystery that had me intrigued throughout the book 1 a book that I would definitely recommend for 12+ ages and for those adults like me, who love diving back into the simpler time in our lives 🤩 • The second book I had picked up is “The Dark Vault - The Archived and The Unbound” by V. E.
