Looks can be deceiving.
I knew that most people took one look at the ink and the impossibly big and strong body it covered and decided I was a brawler…a bruiser…a beast. However, I was hardwired to be a thinker, not a fighter—my mind being my greatest weapon and my biggest weakness.
I should have chosen to use my brain and talents to be one of the good guys, a hero, a man with dignity and worth.
I turned my back on dignity and sold my soul to the highest bidder, deciding to dance with the devil, instead.
I couldn’t figure out how to help myself, so there was zero chance I knew how to save someone else.
That someone else was Noe Lee. She was the unkempt, unruly thief who was just as smart as I was and twice as street savvy. She was annoyingly adorable beneath the dirt and grime and she was in trouble. In way over her head, I told myself it wasn’t my job to keep her from drowning. In the Point, it was sink or swim and I wasn’t the designated lifeguard on duty.
I had shut the door in her face, but now she’s gone…vanished…disappeared without a trace. It took less than a second for me to realize that I wanted her back.
When a woman comes along that melts all the frozen, hard things you’re made of, you’ll do anything you have to, to bring her home.
What you see is not always what you get…and with a man like me there is more than anyone ever bargained for.

Every once in a while, you need to get away from it all.
I was a woman on the edge, shaken and shattered after a breakup that felt like it tore my entire world apart.
My best friend, sick of watching me drown in misery and melancholy, harassed me until I agreed to go with her on a week-long wilderness retreat.
She promised days spent bonding and getting in touch with our inner bad-asses.
It was supposed to be all about the two of us roughing it and making do with the bare minimum. She assured me we were going to be pushed to our limits in ways that were unimaginable. Neither one of us could have ever guessed just how right she was.
Nowhere in the glossy brochure did it say anything about the fact I was going to have to battle the insufferable but deliciously rugged and sexy trail guide instead of the elements. The brochure also forgot to mention the part that warned when you left civilization behind, there was no place to pack your inhibitions and fears.
I was told that I would be facing a week where the only thing I should expect was the unexpected. However, no one mentioned that I was going to have to fight for my life…and my heart as soon as I ventured into the unknown.
I was a pro at hiding from my feelings but when it came time to face a real threat, one that could change everything, I learned I was more of a no surrender, no retreat kind of girl.
Retreat is a standalone novel, the first in the Getaway series which centers on the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women that dare to love them.
These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

Today I have the best sort of news for you bookworms!
Have you ever read the Marked Men Series by Jay Crownover – you know about those wonderfully sexy Alpha Males with enough tattoos to drown you in their awesomeness? Those Men who go by the names Rule, Jet, Rome, Nash, Rowdy and Asa? Well now that they all found their own HEA’s – not without struggle, pain and a little bit of angst of course – it’s time for the secondary characters to have their own struggles!
The spin off series is going to be called The Saints of Denver Series and will feature characters that had a minor role in the Marked Men series! But I am also hoping that these previous characters also make an appearance, because I have missed them (Rowdy more than anyone, but Shh!! Do not tell anyone else! Those are pretty possessive Alphas!)
The first book in this series is BUILT wherein we are finally going to have the whole story behind Sayer Cole, the half sister to my favourite Marked Men, Rowdy and her absolutely opposite in every way, Zeb Fuller!
So today, we are gathered here, virtually, not only to have the official cover reveal but a little something extra, that I like to call the Prologue of the book!!
ARE YOU EXCITED YET?? BECAUSE I AM and January 2016 can’t come fast enough for me 😉
