2018 was a good reading year – I had the TBR challenge to of my own, to read a whole of 24 books from my own backlist TBR – 2 books each month, in addition any books that I would read each month. This definitely made sure that by the end of 2019; my TBR felt a little lighter. The fact that I added at least a triple of those books to my TBR throughout the TBR is totally a different issue 😉
But in 2019, I have decided to dedicate the whole year to those series – completed / yet to be completed – those have been on my watch list ever since I got to know about them or saw a fellow blogger recommend and I either bought them for myself but also my excitement for these series as well.
I would love to have you all join me in this challenge – all you would need would be series (even if it’s just the one series) that you have always wanted to read, but have never found the time or the inclination to!
Join me on Instagram / Twitter / Facebook / Blog with the tag #2019FWSeriesPick – I plan on hosting a giveaway of 10$ Book Depository / Amazon India at the end of every two months for those who are actively participating; which means that the winner wouldn’t be chosen randomly; but for their level of participation. The giveaways will be held in the following months – February, April, June, August, October and December (ending the year on a high note!).
Now for the series that are on my list, in no particular order of preference (and yes, I know this is an ambitious list!) but here’s to the optimistic side of me who believes that she can read all the books in the world before she dies 😛
A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC TRILOGY by V. E. Schwab
I have yet to read any of V.E. Schwab’s books (yes I know, shame on me) – but this year, ADSOM will one of the series by her that I will definitely be picking up, mostly cause I have the whole set on my shelf right now.
THE ILLUMINAE FILES by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
I have fallen in love with Jay Kristoff’s multi – faceted writing style with Nevernight (Read My Review) and Life L1k3 (Read My Review) & now that this trilogy is complete; I can finally binge – read the whole series. I am so looking forward to this one!
MISTBORN TRILOGY by Brandon Sanderson
Brandon Sanderson is an amazingly talented author – and this trilogy has been sitting on the shelf for at least a year now; I plan on at least picking up these books in 2019.
MONSTERS OF VERITY DUOLOGY by Victoria Schwab
Another V.E. Schwab duology that has been on my shelf and another duology that I plan on reading in 2019 – in fact, it just might be one of my first picks for this challenge this New Year!
BONE SEASON SERIES by Samantha Shanno
This series is another one that has generated quite a lot of rave reviews from the bloggers and reviewers alike – and even though I know that this series won’t be completed any time soon; I am still keeping this series on the list and hopefully get to the ones already out in the world till 2019!
SHADOW AND BONE TRILOGY by Leigh Bardugo
I fell in love with the Six of Crows Duology (Read My Review) in 2018; in fact it was one of the my top favorites in 2018 – so I am very excited to finally get started on this trilogy, hopefully before King of Scars comes out in 2019 😀
DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE TRILOGY by Laini Taylor
As I write this blog post, I am currently reading The Stranger The Dreamer & and absolutely loving it – so this trilogy is definitely one of my top picks for this challenge in 2019.
THE WINTERNIGHT TRILOGY by Katherine Arden
When one of my favorite bloggers, Mridula from @ecstatic_yet_chaotic tells me to read a series that she absolutely fell in love with in 2018; I am picking it up.. without a doubt; without a question.
