From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Dream Man series…
Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister is in the zone. She’s ready to take on the next chapter of her life, and since she doesn’t have a man, she’ll do what she’s done all along. She’ll take care of business on her own. Even if that business means starting a family.
The problem is, Lottie has a stalker. The really bad kind. The kind that means she needs a bodyguard.
Enter Mo Morrison.
Enormous. Scary.
Quiet.
Mo doesn’t say much, and Lottie’s used to getting attention. And she wants Mo’s attention. Badly.
But Mo has a strict rule. If he’s guarding your body, that’s all he’s doing with it.
However, the longer Mo has to keep Lottie safe, the faster he falls for the beautiful blonde who has it so together, she might even be able to tackle the demons he’s got in his head that just won’t die.
But in the end, Lottie and Mo don’t only have to find some way to keep hands off until the threat is over, they have to negotiate the overprotective Hot Bunch, Lottie’s crazy stepdad, Tex, Mo’s crew of frat-boy commandos, not to mention his nutty sisters.
All before Lottie finally gets her Dream Man.
And Mo can lay claim to his Dream Girl.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
I love reading Kristen Ashley’s books – somehow for me, each of her books are not just stories, but are also a delightful journey – a journey that is full of laughter, tears and absolute joy; a journey that is supposed to be enjoyed, each twist and turn to be savoured, like a brilliantly made cup of coffee.
Quiet Man, is not only a novella & a prequel to what looks to be a hilarious and action – packed new series (Dream Man Series) but it is also a look back to the relationships, friendships and family made in two interconnected series, that I have loved right from when I found them – Rock Chick Series & Dream Man Series.
Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister is a woman that you can’t help but admire – she is confident in her skin, proud of the career that she has undertaken, even if the said career maybe a little quirky for the staid society – a headliner stripper; she has made a name for herself, and not because it is sleazy, but that she has actual talent and people, no matter their gender and/or orientation, adore watching her perform.
But this fame comes with a price, and the price is the fixation of an obsessive fan – to protect her, her boss and friend; hires a 24/7 protection for her.
Kim Seamus “Mo’ Morrisson is a huge hunk of a guy, he is a protector foremost, even if it is his job description. He has his own hang ups regarding his appealability towards females as a life partner as in, he feels he is not the type to settle down with, mostly cause he believes that he is not the kind of good looking guy women prefer. It doesn’t help that his previous relationships haven’t exactly disputed his assumptions.
When Mo is hired to protect Lottie – he is instantly attracted to her; but he doesn’t even think about going there because; first it would affect his professional duties to be vigilant against any threat to her and second; most important one is that he “knows” that he will never be on her radar as a potential life partner, even if she is attracted to him.
Lottie, on the other hand, is immediately charmed by the huge, strong yet one of the quietest man she has ever had the pleasure of meeting – and like I said before, she knows what she wants, and she knows that she wants this man in her life. She has been searching for her dream man for a while now, but never expected to be thrown in his path in this kind of circumstances.
I adored Lottie – she is spunky, sassy and an absolute delight to get to know as a reader; and I honestly want to be her when I grow up – the kind of confidence she has in her own skin, is commendable and respectful.
Mo, on the other hand has my heart and blind adulation. He might be a humungous guy, but he defines the term “gentle giant” with Lottie – and while I would never dare to cross Lottie when it comes to her man, I wouldn’t mind having a bit of Mo light in my life.
We also get a chance to meet Mo’s colleagues or rather brothers – in arms – whose wild journey we will be tagging along from next year with DREAM MAKER ( Dream #1) and honestly these little sneak peaks in the story and in the epilogue makes me wish 2020 is here already!
If you haven’t already read Kristen Ashley; then you should, especially if you are a fan of Alpha Males of the protective yet at times asshole category and heroines who put these men on a wild goose chase, merry go around.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing’s changed.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
