Re-released in a second edition with new content.
The town of Bliss, Colorado, offered Hope McLean a second chance at life, a gift she cherishes every day. Her past was dominated by dark secrets and regret, most of which centered on a man named Christian Grady. All of that was behind her now, years of horror distilled down into the occasional nightmare or a random feeling of being watched. Surrounded by new friends, she tried hard to leave the past where it belonged—in the rearview mirror.
Raised together, James Glen and Noah Bennett were the best of friends. They dreamed of growing up in Bliss, finding love, and settling down to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch while Noah served the town as the resident veterinarian. Everything was perfectly planned out, until a woman came between them and their future shattered. Noah left Bliss for New York City and James was left to struggle to keep the Circle G alive on his own.
Noah returns to Bliss on a mission to rebuild his life. When he sees Hope, he knows his return home was meant to be. Hope’s kindness shines like a beacon calling him to her. Unfortunately, he isn’t the only man interested in Hope. James is also interested in the beautiful girl with a mysterious past. He can’t be forced to choose between the woman of his dreams and his best friend again.
As romance begins to bloom, a dark specter from Hope’s past returns to claim her. To save Hope, and themselves, James and Noah will have to rebuild the relationship they lost and fight for their future with Hope together.
Pure Bliss is the 6th book in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado Series – and it’s the journey of Hope, Jamie and his brother Noah.
Hope, in the previous books, has come across a reticent, full of sass when required, but also quite troubled. It becomes quite clear within the first couple of chapters that she is also harboring quite a bit of guilt and secrets about her past – as a result, she is now a recovering alcoholic; yet her past has a hold on her, that she fears that it will not only always haunt her, but will make sure that she never finds happiness in the future.
Jamie Glen is a manwhore – he hooks up with almost every single female, except Hope – but that’s mostly ‘cause he is enamored by her and doesn’t believe that he could give her anything concrete for his life is all about his family’s ranch. But his issues run deeper, as we see in the prologue; especially exacerbated by the fact that his brother left him all alone.
Noah Bennett is finally coming back home, to his brother and to his hometown, after leaving them to follow the woman he loved to New York – a woman that his brother warned was a gold digger; and he found out, the hard way was the warning he should have listened to. He doesn’t know if his brother will accept him back, but knows that there is nowhere else he wants to be, but by his brother’s side with a woman in between them.
Noah meets Hope on his way back to Bliss, and like his brother, is immediately enamored with her. And it is this enchantment that will prove to be the reason for bringing him and his big brother together.
This was one of those books; wherein I found the villain to be a little more interesting than the relationship between the MCs – not that I didn’t enjoy the acrimonious relationship between the brothers, and their sweet relationship with Hope; I just felt that their issues with each other were resolved quite easily; especially considering the seriousness of their demons.
Still this definitely an interesting addition to this series; and I am looking forward to the next one already!
