The Montgomery Ink series continues with a spin-off in Colorado Springs, where a familiar Montgomery finds her place in a new tattoo shop, and in the arms of her best friend.

Adrienne Montgomery is finally living her dreams. She’s opened a tattoo shop with her brother, Shep, and two of her cousins from Denver and she’s ready to take the city by storm with her art—as long as she can handle the pressure. When her new neighbors decide her shop isn’t a great fit for the community, however, she’ll have to lean on the one person she didn’t expect to fall for along the way…her best friend.

Mace Knight takes pride in two things: his art and his daughter. He knows he’s taking a risk by starting over in a new shop with the Montgomerys, but the stakes are even higher when he finds himself wanting Adrienne more than he thought possible.

The two fall fast and hard but they know the rules; they can’t risk their friendship, no matter how hot it is between the sheets and how many people try to stand in their way.

The Montgomery Clan are absolutely adorable and one of my favourite fictional family; I have loved each and every character + extended addition to this series.

Fallen Ink follows the extended Montgomery family, when Adrienne and Shep Montgomery open Montgomery Ink Too (MIT); a franchise of the original tattoo shop in Montgomery Series.

I rarely read Best Friends to Lovers trope; I am never in a drama mood; and this trope has the ability to get on my nerves like any other, for if not done right; it is full of miscommunication and headaches that could have been avoided if the couple acted a bit maturely.

Yet since Montgomery Clan is one of my favourites; I swallowed my trepidation; and move on forward with my heart still in my throat.

Adrienne’s best friend Mace Knight followed her when she opened up MIT; but that was not an emotional decision, but also a logical one so he could be closer to his young daughter.

Adrienne and Mace have always had an underlying attraction between them and they have no intention of crossing the line; but you know what they say about best intentions, don’t you? And so they should have as well.

This was a sweet, low on angst and a quick read – and I enjoyed the journey Adrienne and Mace took, even if they had their own apprehensions about how this new aspect added to their relationship.

There were threads that were left loose; that I do wish had been knotted a little bit more tightly, so as to give the readers a bit more of a closure at the end of the book. The writing style of the author is as usual impeccable and I can’t wait to see where she takes this generation of Montgomery!
