I found J.T. Geissinger in 2017 with Wicked Intentions (Read My Review) and I fell in love with her writing style and I haven’t looked back since!

And before I start with my review – you should know this is a book that you need to experience; it’s a journey that if taken WITHOUT any information about the plot, would be INFINITELY more precious. So trust a fellow reader; go and read this book WITHOUT reading this review.

Megan is a widow, lost the love of her life 5 years back; she hasn’t moved on since and doesn’t want to anyways; but has still decided to fulfill the ONE dream she and her husband had together. But that didn’t mean that she was going to be living her life anew. No, as afar as she is concerned she is effectively dead, but she just hasn’t left her body anymore.

On the first night in the new town; she locks eyes with Theo Valentine; a man who is grumpy, angry and tortured but the connection between them is instantaneous and palpable.

This connection between them isn’t one that either of them like or even want – but it is there and inexplicable in its intensity.

The writing is flawless – as it is the case with Ms. Geissinger other writings; simple yet effective with characters who not only worm their way into your heart, but also feel their anguish, ache and confusion as they tried to make sense of exactly how they were connected with each other (did not help that I was going through PMS when I read this book, magnifying everything I felt!!).

The only thing that could have made this book a whole lot better is that if we had a dual POVs – I was very interested in knowing EXACTLY what was going on in Theo’s mind; which would have just enriched the experience of reading this book.
