As Jeff begins to crave Ariana more than his payback, will the publicist’s true motives take their love to the next level or send the ex-con back to jail?Hard Time is a standalone romantic suspense novel. If you like sizzling chemistry, fast-paced thrills, and tales of revenge, then you’ll love bestselling author Kristen Luciani’s passionate story.
Oh this was such an explosive read – with revenge at its helm and foundations revolving around two people who wouldn’t have met otherwise. And from the start, I knew this was going to be one of those twisted, turny books that was going to keep me on my toes till the last page.
Jeff Torres is the epitome of “wrong place wrong time” – a man who has seen both sides of the law; one side that he chose and the other side chose him. He now has a plan for revenge; a plan that need Ariana Carlson to complete but he never planned on needing Ariana for himself.
Ariana Carlson is a publicist for celebrities and a place that she has gotten with grit and hard work. And even though she sense more to Jeff’s agenda, she is not willing to stand by and let him destroy all her hard work.
Though it is not said explicitly; it is implied that there is a considerable age gap between Jeff and Ariana and thus, the fact that their romance seemed more physical wasn’t exactly the best part of the book for me.
Now what I did like was the author’s writing style – the plot is complex, twisted and the drama over the top at times; and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! I rarely like the overly antognostic ex (unless there’s trauma involved!); but I guess I picked this book at the time when I was in the mood for drama and I relished every moment of this journey!
There were amazing twists and turns, the climax one that even I didn’t even guess – that made this book all the more fun to read!
