Today we are here for the blog tour of The Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez. It is the first book in a contemporary romance duet, and is it available to read for FREE on KindleUnlimited!

Read my review of this beautiful heart wrenching BOOK – a review that is all me blubbering!!

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience.

“You’re pregnant.”

“It’s a boy.”

“Your son needs a heart transplant.”

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.

Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.

Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky.

“He’s gone.”

For ten years, the darkness consumed me.

In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise.

“Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”

I JUST. NOPE. I can’t breathe. I just. *swallows*

How do I even survive those words?

How do I breathe when everything hurts?

I do not how this author does it; I do not know if she is actually human or has she become the Dark Lord – for there is no way that she hasn’t poured her heart and soul into this book – and not come out the other side without a piece missing.

I am pretty sure that THIS IS ALY’S HORCRUX *wide eyes*

“She couldn’t heal me. And I couldn’t heal her.”

Once in a lifetime; you come across a book(s) where it feels sacrilegious to even rate the words that have been burned down on paper – and THE DARKEST SUNRISE is one of them.

17% into the book and I was already sobbing my heart out – midnight and my husband is trying to console me when he doesn’t even understand why I am crying hard enough to stop my breathing.

“We don’t share an inferno, Porter. You wouldn’t last a day in my flames.”

For there to be light; you have to go through darkness. But how do you survive that darkness? How do you let the light in if you do not know how to breathe without the darkness?

I know I have been purposefully vague about this beauty; and it has been hard not to scream out with all the details with everything in me – but you have to know that YOU NEED TO GO INTO THIS BOOK BLIND.

That is the only way to enjoy this beauty of duet – and it is on my honor that you will never regret it!

You won’t want to miss this amazing series!

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
