Blog Tour – Review + Excerpt & Giveaway: Ink Enduring by Carrie Ann Ryan

Ink enduring

Welcome to the Blog Tour for Ink Enduring (Montgomery Ink #5) by Carrie Ann Ryan hosted by the lovely Inkslinger PR ❤

Today, you will not only get to meet three amazing characters (in my words) but also get a chance to enter an awesome giveaway ❤

The Montgomery Ink series continues with a forbidden love between three friends and a past that they can’t escape.

Jake Gallagher knew from the moment he saw Maya that she was the one for him—it had the same breath-taking intensity as when he’d first set eyes on Border. Only life never turns out the way one plans, and now he’s falling for someone else…or at least he thinks he is.

Maya Montgomery never should have looked past the friendship she already had. Now that she has, she can’t stop thinking about Jake and what he means to her. When a mysterious stranger from Jake’s past shows up at their door, she’s forced to admit that if she doesn’t take the risk of a lifetime, she’ll regret it for the rest of her days.

Border Gentry walked away without a second glance once because of what could happen if he let go, but now he’s back and ready to see what he’s missed. He’s been on the road a long time and has seen things no man should ever see, yet once he rediscovers the broody Jake and meets the inked and fierce Maya, they’re like a balm to his soul and he realizes what path his future should take.

It will take more than sizzling chemistry and a heat that never dies for the three of them to overcome their pasts. And when someone from the outside wants to stand in their way, it’s not only their hearts on the line…but also their lives.

My Review (1)

Disclaimer: This is the 5th book in Montgomery Ink Series but CAN be read as Standalone.

Warning: This is M/M/F – meaning the males have a physical relationship with each other.

After Written in Ink, I have been looking forward to Maya Montgomery and Jake Gallagher’s story – the best friends who were in love with each other, yet had friend-zoned each other SO HARD that THEY CONVINCED THEMSELVES that they were better off as friends – EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE AROUND THEM COULD SEE HOW PERFECT THEY WERE FOR EACH OTHER!!! (uggghh!)

But the simple fact is that now that Jake is with another woman – even going as far as (trying to) falling in love with her – Maya realized that the feelings she has for Jake aren’t that friendly after all. Yet, she will keep her mouth shut, deal with the pain of a shattered heart with a freaking smile just so that she could see Jake happy in his life.

Jake Gallagher, on the hand, is trying REALLY HARD to be happy and in love with the girl he is getting series with – yet there is something that is holding him back. The fact that he has to force himself to fall in love is another issue – not that he would ever connect the dots to the fact he is in love with his BEST FRIEND MAYA!

Border Gentry – is the new player in this series – a man from Jake’s past – his best friend and the one who left without a single backward glance when they both fell in love – but he HAD to leave, did not mean that he forgot. And now he is back, with an unformed idea at the back of his head – but even then he is here to stay.

“You could get hurt,” he whispered. Maya gave him a sad smile. “I’m hurting without you, Jake. I’m willing to risk more for you. You’re worth it.”

Maya and Jake’s story started off exactly where I wanted it to – years back and the reason why they were now best friends. And I got it, I really did – the timing honestly NEVER seemed right for them.

And even now, with Jake in a serious relationship and Maya trying to be in denial – it isn’t exactly the best of times as well!

But then Border walks in – and shatters all their expectations – he is the one who opens their eyes to an unconventional relationship but one that would slowly make them all happy.

I ADORED how Carrie made sure that each character had their own POV – and even though Jake is their connecting character – she made sure that he wasn’t given all the attention in their relationship.

Both Maya and Jake, Border and Maya along with Jake and Border had their own screen time – each got their own “special” time – and their own way of making that relationship work.

But when these three came *pun totally intended* together – PHEW! THAT WAS HOT! HOT! HOT! SMOKING HOT!

I mean seriously. I need Ice Water just to cool down 😛

BUT while I enjoyed the relationship among the three MC’s – the plot itself was a little weak for me – Border came back because of some danger? That was exactly explained well – neither was Jake and Border’s history – yes, we were given an explanation – but it somehow fell flat for me.

These small plot weaknesses kept this book from becoming the awesome romance , I knew it could have been!

But it was definitely worth the wait – and I can’t wait to see the next HEA in the Montgomery World ❤

“Don’t call me baby,” she muttered against his lips.

“I’ll call you mine.”

About The Author (3)

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.
