ARC Review: Forever Pucked (Pucked #4) by Helena Hunting

Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?

In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.

It’s so romantic.

Violet is totally stoked to set a date.

Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first.

My Review (1)

Disclaimer: I received an eARC of the book via the author in exchange for an honest review.

Another Disclaimer: You definitely need to read Pucked (Pucked #1) before you even pick up this book – cause it involves Violet aka Beaver and Alex aka MC’s wedding. There will be spoilers in this review.

I loved Alex and Violent, literally the most opposite couple you could ever find, in Pucked, my interoduction to the awesomeness that is Helena Hunting (and let me tell you, she is quite awesome!).

So when this book downloaded into my kindle, I was looking forward to reading a small but sweet wedding novella, but what do I get? A FREAKING FULL LENGTH NOVEL!!

More Beaver and MC?? HELLS YEAH!!

Now Alex and Violet are engaged, happily if I might say so myself and the wedding preparations are in full swing – with both mum’s being at the helm of it. Now if only Violet could get over this teeny tiny issue she has – hating to be at the center of attention, specifically she pops out hives every single time someone mentions the word “wedding”.

Alex, on the other hand is happy and absolutely ecstatic to marry Violet, but then again he has always been the more grounded (tehehehe) one.

Passionate couple in bed

Let me just say, how brilliant this book actually was, especially considering that Ms. Hunting could have written a short and sweet novella, and let me tell you, we readers would have been satisfied with that – but she went three steps further  to a give us the real story of what happens when a couple grows into the relationship and she does it brilliantly.

Without trying to give too many spoilers, this phase in Beaver and MC’s life is not without it’s challenges. It isn’t easy to navigate through an adult relationship, and that’s exactly what Ms. Hunting gives to Alex and Violet.

They have their disagreements, their doubts, but what survives is their love for each other and their private parts (Yup, I really couldn’t resist!) – but what Ms. hunting does provide her readers with is poignant heartfelt HEA that doesn’t even lose the uniqueness that is Alex and Violet! ❤
