ARC Review: Pucked Over (Pucked #3) by Helena Hunting

Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong? Nothing at all.

NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene.

Casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to gets pucked over.

Disclaimer: eARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Disclaimer 2: While each book in Pucked series is about a separate couple, it is highly suggested that you read them in order, for it is interconnected couples.

Disclaimer 3: This book (and others in this series) contain themes and language only meant adults, as in mature adults, who know how to live juvenile jokes 😀

You know there are some authors whose books have the ability to make you laugh crazily, with absolutely no regard to your surroundings or the crowd – the authors whose first book you end up reading in a public face and then have forcefully stop yourself from laughing out loud or even blushing, loving and hating the author at the same time? Helena Hunting turned out to be one of those authors for me 😛

“He’s the kind of beautiful that turns women into mindless sex starved puck bunnies”

Randy Ballistic – you read me right, that’s exactly what his actual name is – is introduced to us in Pucked Up and he absolutely lives up to his name – is right now one of my favourite NHL players from the Pucked series – he has to be – not only does he live upto his name, he is more in tune with himself than any other character I have read.

He is one of those heroes, whose charm and cockiness you fall for and then you realise that it was just the surface, when he starts opening up to his true feelings and embraces his romantic side – he literally made me swoon and it was heartfelt wish, when I met the floor, the he was real enough to actually sweep me up in his arms.

Now Lily LeBlanc is a heroine I could absolutely empathize with – she has had a hard life, a life where she had to give up her dreams and has been stuck in a dead end relationship with a douche for almost all of her dating life *sigh* So when the time comes to just enjoy a no holds bared physical relationship with the one man who has turned her on more than anyone else, she gives it a go, even with apprehensions *but with a guy like Randy in her sights, yeah those apprehensions disappeared like her panties*

“Don’t you think it’s kind of rude to take off so I can have my brains screwed out?”

“Is that what you think I want to do?”

“Isn’t it?”

“What if I just want to talk?”

“In moans?”

Not many authors can get that perfect balance between “keeping you in stitches” sort of humor, characters that become more real to you as you read on and enough angst to drown you in tears, but Helena has it down to art form.

You just can’t get any better than her, when you want the whole package – from a romance that melts your panties off, to a hero who you wish just was real rather than fictional, a heroine you damn well wished would be your BFF and a s*x life that you can only dream off – Helena Hunting’s Pucked series will always get my recommendation and this book definitely made my top reads of January 😀
