A Reader’s Dream: My ‘Invaluable’ Collection

so-many-books-gif

About a month back, I got a curious mail from this sweet human Ryan (from the Invaluable.com fame) with an interesting request to create a blog post about my dream collection of books and me being the lover of books that I am – I couldn’t help but say yes 😀

All I can hope now is that Ryan forgives me for the lateness of this blog post and you, my lovely fellow readers give me your recommendations after reading this post 😉

Also, do not forget to check out Invaluable.com – the world’s premier online auction marketplace – for I have spent countless hours drooling over the vast collection of items that they have up for bid, including collectibles and rare books – now if only I had the money to bid on those droolworthy maps, I would be a happy camper 😀

Enjoy your visit lovelies ❤

When I received the request for this Blog Post – it didn’t take long for me to realise that I am more of a modern girl rather than a classics – and therefore most of my dream collection would be from the recent times rather than the classics era 😀

So, while my dream collection would be a lot less compared to others, it would also be infinitely more expensive – which is a sad thing ’cause I am broke as a bird right now 😛

HARRY POTTER SIGNED FIRST EDITION BY J.K. ROWLING

I am a #PotterHead Girl for Life. In fact to be very honest, it is the only series that I own multiple copies of and I never feel guilty for shelling out more money to buy new editions 😀

But probably the pinnacle of my Dream Bookshelf would be having a signed edition of this beautiful series – for this series will always remind me of home!

And if I can’t meet The Queen in reality, then I darn will have a signed copy of her books on my bookshelf one day!

Seriously? Still think it’s mine? ^-^

PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS BY RICK RIORDAN

Uncle Rick is a master story-teller and after Harry Potter – I fell in love with Percy Jackson – mostly cause it is as far away from magic as it could possibly be and this series is still on my re-read list.

It is simple, funny and is peppered with the kind of humor that only Uncle Rick is famous for!

So when Easton Press announced a Collector’s Edition – they became quite high on my wishlist – even if they were exorbitantly expensive.

But sadly, these are not available anymore – one of my few regrets in life, to be quite honest.

THE COMPLETE SHERLOCK HOLMES COLLECTION by SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE

Most of you know by now, that my day profession is Forensic Psychologist – so it should come absolutely no surprise that Sherlock Holmes collection would be on my list.

I have read these books over and over again and when I saw this collection – I know I just need to have it!

MISS MARPLE AND POIROT COLLECTIONS BY AGATHA CHRISTIE

Sherlock Holmes may have given me my love for solving crimes, but it was Agatha Christie who cemented my love for understanding the criminal behavior.

Once I had the whole collection of Agatha Christie books, but moving and some plumbing problems, I lost most of my collections so this a collection I would love to have again 🙂

Ain’t this perfect? ^_^

PENGUIN’S DROP CAP COLLECTION

As I said at the beginning – I am not really a classics girl but what I am is  Cover whore – so when I saw this collection of classics by Penguin’s – I am thinking that I need to find time to read more classics – do you get what I am saying? 😛

I think I just had a cover orgasm ^-^

GAME OF THRONES BY GEORGE R.R. MARTIN – BANTAM BOOKS

I haven’t read these books yet *please forgive me*

Mostly because these books look really daunting to me – so when I saw on a fellow bookstagrammer’s account – this really manageable size editions of this series – it immediately went to my wishlist.

Still a bit pricey for me, I am hoping to get my hands on these soon *_*

Thank you for being patient enough to read through the whole list – a list you might have noticed doesn’t really have First Editions – and that is because I have never been the one who just collect books. For me books are meant to be read and not just for display.

I would love to have your recommendations – for my wishlist is feeling woefully alone 😉

Thank you, Ryan for this wonderful opportunity – and for forgiving me for being this late. You are the best!

And One day, one or more books from your lovely site will find their way back to me! 😀
