Welcome to my stop of the Blog Tour for Quarter Mile Hearts. Hope you enjoy your visit and the review as much as I have enjoyed reading this beautiful book!
Following an accident injuring her dad, twenty-four year old Leigh Storm returns home to the town she was once so desperate to escape.
It is only a matter of hours before she runs into Max ‘Manwhore’ Morgan. Dark eyed and dangerous to her heart, he is the very last person she wants to see. It might have been four years since she saw him last, but there’s no denying the chemistry between them is as potent as ever. Max makes it clear he isn’t about to let her run again, even if he is the one thing Leigh vowed to herself she would never date: a street racer.
After racing tore apart her own family and left a path of destruction in its wake, Leigh decided long ago that it is not the life she wants for herself. But when a wager gone wrong threatens her dad’s livelihood, Leigh must go against everything she believes in.
This time there’s more at stake on the quarter mile than just the family business—she’s risking her heart as well.
Leigh Storm has grown up with racing.
She was born from it – it’s in her blood.
Yet she ran away from it.
Because she saw the the destruction that racing caused in her family.
And a racer, Max, caused to her heart!
Max is a manwhore. He does only one – night stands.
But not really. Because that’s the image he portrays to world and to Leigh, precisely!
She ran away from him, and now that she is back, Max has absolutely no intention of letting her get away again!
The characters are quite strong individually. Max with his cocky confident self, does take your breath away while Leigh with her sassy sarcastic self, made me cheer for her at every turn.
But together – the chemistry sadly enough fizzled out – not always but enough times for me to only skim through those smexy scenes (and let me tell you, that never happens, especially if the hero is as hot as Max is!). And that is mainly the reason for this low rating!
Beyond that, the writing is superb – brilliant to be exact! The plot is interesting, with enough twists to keep you involved with book as well as the characters!
Jenny Siegel is an author that I would definitely love to read more from!
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ .5
If you love cocky confident male heroes and sexy sassy heroines, the definitely pick this one up! Also, there is racing. Lots and lots of racing – which if you have an active imagination, would feel as if you are on the hot seat! 😛 😉
Jenny Siegel writes new adult romance. When she’s not writing (or entertaining two little terrors) Jenny is glued to her Kindle, or plotting (also known as daydreaming) about hot tattooed heroes that will sweep a girl off her feet.
