Ally Moran has always just known about things—things she shouldn’t really be able to know…

Suddenly when she starts having vivid visions about a former friend who is in desperate trouble, the adults in her life think she might hold the key to an ancient mystery.

Jack Ruiz has a troubled past, but is trying to make a fresh start at a new high school…

He just wants to keep his head down and graduate, hopefully before he turns 20. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a feisty redhead and her psychic visions.

While Jack valiantly attempts to keep Ally at arm’s length, she is equally determined to be a part of his life. Who will win this battle of wills?

More importantly…

Can this unlikely couple work together to find answers to Ally’s visions before someone gets killed?

Review:

Ally is having dreams while waking up – only these aren’t dreams. They seem to be visions about things that have already happened! This is now playing havoc in her life because while she understands that her family is a little different, she did not expect that “differentness” to be passed on to her!

But those visions bring her something good! They get her closer to Jack – Jack who has a painful and violent past – Jack who is trying to keep his nose clean, and whose plans do not include falling for an underage girl. But fall he does!

I had really high expectations from the book, to be very honest – like 5 stars expectations and it did valiantly try to reach to my expectations. The plot, the mystery and the climax were pretty much on the point but what took the joy out of my experience was Ally herself. She started off as a strong, independent teenager but while she still retained those qualities, she still became quite whiny. She cried at every turn (yes, I understand that the visions were horrible and no, I wouldn’t have expected her to get used to it!) but I did expect her to grow a backbone once she knew why it was happening to her.

Jack on the other hand, was adorable and quite frankly Ally’s rock! They fell for each other almost instantly (and that for me is just wrong at their age!). While they didn’t talk about “being together forever” they did actually fell hard and fast!! But I still believe that this book could have used a chapter or two from Jake’s POV!

The plotline and the writing though were point on! These were the reasons why I still held on, even if I sometimes felt like giving up because of Ally. The twists and the background were interestingly vague – which didn’t irritate me, mostly cause I knew that I had the second book in hand!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Recommendation:

If you love YA and Paranormal together – read this book! The plotline and the writing definitely makes it a worthwhile read!

Meet Ally Moran, a 17 year-old who also happens to be psychic. Oh, and she’s getting more psychic with every passing day, so much so that she’s been sent to Ireland to check in with the Seer Council to see what’s up with her freaky new powers. Jack Ruiz is her 19 year-old boyfriend, a former troublemaker who’s back on track and trying desperately to graduate. His plans did not include falling in love with a psychic trouble-magnet. Last month they worked together to save a friend in deep trouble and ended up solving a school-wide mystery. But now there’s a new guy at school, Remy Giles, and he seems just a little bit too interested in Ally for Jack’s liking. And why does Ally keep dreaming about a kidnapping? Last month seems like a cakewalk compared to this semester… Ally’s trying to solve a mystery, but Jack is just trying to keep her alive.

Review:

Disclaimer: Please read Seeker before reading Dreamer.

Dreamer starts off with Ally in Ireland to meet with The Seers, to understand the manifestation of Ally’s powers, which is quite honestly more powerful than anyone has ever seen!

Ally also has been dreaming of a kidnapping – whether it’s hers or just a premonition, it remains to be seen! Ally finally though grows up in this book – courtesy of character growth! 😀

Jack is still his own adorable self – and their relationship actually matures! It is satisfying to see Ally and Jack in a mutually respectful and dependent relationship. It is the introduction of Remy that has me faltering. He is an enigma to be honest and I found myself scared that this would end up as a love triangle ( I hate love triangles and no, I am not telling you what happens – that would be being mean :P).

But the plotline though failed to grip me as Seeker’s did!  Oh it was quite interesting and satisfying on it’s own – but it still failed to “wow” me! I have a feeling it wasn’t the fault of the author or the book itself but mine! I had been on an erotica binge to be very honest and it took away the pleasure of this wonderful book!

I have a feeling if I do end up reading this one again (which I have a feeling I will!) – my rating just might go up!
