2015: What I am Looking Forward to!

A year ends. A year with one of the most ups and downs I have ever encountered in all of my life.

I am going to write down some of the most important things I am looking forward to (bookish and non – bookish), just so I can keep a track of what resolutions I have made [and what I can tick off ;)]

These resolutions aren’t airtight (If they were, I definitely would be adhering to them. The rebel in me doesn’t like to be tethered! :P) but mere suggestions. I am going to try my best to listen to them!!

Wish me luck, you awesome sauce readers ❤

THE BOOKISH GOALS

TBR – Series 2015

These are the series that I have yet to get to, either because I didn’t have the books with me or because at that particular moment, I wasn’t interested in reading them at that particular moment in time (and space :P). Let’s hope I get to all of them before this year ends xx

1. The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

If you follow me on Instagram (@_geekythoughts_) then you would know that I only got my copy of Legend yesterday (I was being picky, okay? I needed the series to match each other :D). I have heard really good things about this series and thankfully haven’t been spoilt yet so I am definitely excited to visit this dystopian world.

2. The Mara Dyer Series by Michelle Hodkin

Again, I only got my hands on this series, just recently and knowing that it is paranormal in its essence, makes me very excited to read it, and read it soon!!

3. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

I am very late to the party. I only have gotten ‘Shadow and Bone’ for now (because it was cheap in hardcover) but now I am stuck till I can actually buy the second and the third books in the series. Yes, I will need all the books before I read this trilogy. I am not a very patient person when it comes to closure.

4. The Darkest Minds Trilogy

Again, I am very late to the party. I only have gotten ‘Never Fade’ for now (because it was also cheap in hardcover) but now I am stuck till I can actually buy the first and the second book in the series.

5. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

A female assassin. I was hooked the moment I read the blurb, but I was only able to get the whole series recently and I can’t wait to marathon read this one!

6. Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver

I have heard quite mixed reviews about this series, but the fact that this series is based on a totalitarian world instead of dystopian, is different enough for me to give this one a try! I am just hoping that the writing is worth the time.

7. Penryn & the End of Days series By Susan Ee

Angels. This series is about Angels. How can it NOT be on my list? I actually have the first two books in the Ebook format, but I am waiting for the third book (which is expected to be published this year) and so have decided to wait till the trilogy is complete and then read it.

8. The Beautiful Series and the Maddox Brother Series by Jamie Mcguire

Yes. I know. I am late. But I will get to them. These will be one of my top priority reads this year along with both the new books in the Maddox Brothers Series that are expected to be published this year!

9. On Dublin Street By Samantha Young

I have heard really good things about this series and I have the ebooks! I hope to be able to get to these before the year ends!

10. The Finishing School Series by Cail Garrier

I only recently found about this steampunk series about a school where a girl learns to dress well, dance alongwith with how to cleanly and politely assassin people. Already ordered the first book! Can’t wait to read the rest!!

How awesome are these covers? <3

11. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Trilogy by Ransom Riggs

I honestly am in two minds about starting these books. Not because I don’t think they will be good but because I know that next book in the series is gonna take another year to be published! I might get to them if my curiosity gets better of me 😀

 12. Alienated Series by Melissa Landers

This book has captured my interest ever since I read the blurb and now with my own copy in hand and the next book in the series just round the corner, I can’t wait to get a visit from the hot alien 😉

Such pretty covers <3

15. Hopeless Series by Colleen Hoover

Again, I know I am very late to the party. But these will be my priority reads as well this year. And I’m every excited, if only because I have heard such good things about the author’s books!!

16. Starbound Series by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner

Another series that i was pushing back, only because The Shattered World was going to be released soon (It has since released) and I wanted that copy as well. SO now the order is in place, and when I do get the book, I am definitely going to be reading this series on a marathon!

15. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

Honestly, despite the pretty covers, this will definitely be last on my TBR – Series list – Only because it sounds quite clichéd and predictable. I might be wrong, cause I have heard a lot of good things about this series. Maybe just maybe, I will get to them, before the year end!

To Be Continued Series – 2015

These are the series that are waiting for the next book to arrive before i can finally have my closure! This is not a final list. I am definitely going to be adding more to this list as the year passes by 🙂

  1. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Read (03/04)

I am internally screaming with impatience of waiting till end of 2015 for Winter to be released!! I mean, c’mon, how mean are the authors really?? At least Fairest comes out in January, though I am not really that excited to read the background story of the Lunar Queen!

  1. The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski

Read (1/3)

The review of the first book – The Winner’s Curse can be found here.

The next book in this trilogy – The Winner’s Crime, will be released soon! And then, the wait would start for the third book! But the author’s writing makes it almost bearable to wait cause I know she will definitely deliver on her promise!

  1. The KGI Series by Maya Banks

Read (09/10)

The next book in this series “Darkest Before Dawn” will be published in 2015, and it’s a story I have been waiting for a while! I can’t wait to see what Ms. Banks dishes out for the favourite villain of the series Hancock ❤

  1. W.A.R.P series by Eoin Colfer

Read (01/03)

I have loved Eoin Colfer’s writing since even before Percy Jackson. So, I picked up this series even without even thinking twice. And the abject of parallel universe was perfectly master by Mr. Colfer. I have only read the first book – The Reluctant Assassin and have yet to buy the second one, mainly cause it was only released a little earlier. But I am thinking, I will wait till the third book is published to read the whole series together.

5. Knitting in the City Series by Penny Reid

This series made the list of my top favourite books of the year (check here) and the next book in the series – Happily Ever After Ninja is due to be published this year and I cant wait! I need me some laughs with my love 😉

To Be Re – Read in 2015

These series are some that I will keep on revisiting. Over and Over again. They are the ones I go back to, because they feel like home, especially when I am going through a reading slump. These books bring me back to the world of reading no matter far off the ledge I am!

So, I will take the time out to re – read them no matter how high my TBR Pile actually is.

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I recently got the new 2014 editions of the series and I actually can’t wait to grab them in my hands and love them with my mind! (And, no it definitely is so not creepy!)

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Saying goodbye to Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Rachel was one of the hardest things I had to do in 2014 and I really want to visit them again. Also I  have a mismatched books in this series and I need to buy the whole box set. Hopefully this will happen this year!

3. The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan

I was recently gifted the box set (without the box, *sob sob*), by a friend. Those beautiful books are just begging to be read, over and over again!

Also, Leo and Nico. I will never be able to let them go ❤

4. Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer

A 13 year old Criminal Mastermind. An elf police officer. And a sassy centaur. What was there not to love? I fell in love with this series when I was about 14 years old and I haven’t looked back since. Can’t wait to re – read this series again.

Also, I need to get the matching box set for this series as well 😀

The Stand Alone Novels – 2015

This list is quite lengthy and be assured that if and when I do read any stand alone novels, on the reviews will be up and posted on the blog ❤

THE BLOGGING GOALS –  2015

I have only started my blog at the end of November 2014 and I already have 33 followers (You guys are awesome by the way, don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise :*). Starting this blog was not my decision, it was taken by Indian Idiot, who is absolutely, the most adorable human being for me (His blog is suspiciously empty though! Evil Cretin!) and is the reason why I am even putting my thoughts about books into words!

But I do have Blogging goals that I hope to accomplish this year ❤

  1. More Interaction with Y’all

This means no going into hibernation mode (that means, no going under my blankets shutting out the whole world.

  1. More active on Bloggin’

Yes, I am on Bloggin’. You can follow me there as well – there is button at the bottom of my blog (I have just the precious 1 follower there and she is very much loved :*).

Plus, if you guys have any suggestions on improving/ even changes on my blogs, please do not hesitate to tell me! I am newbie here and could use all the advice and guidance you awesome sauce people can give me.

  1. Twitter

Yes, I have finally made my twitter and y’all can follow me there at @_geekythoughts_ (Same as my IG, because I am not that creative plus I am very lazy :P)

  1. Get more blog tags and Badges.

I have no idea how to go on about these, but I definitely will try my best. Just so I can get noticed by Popular blogs 😛

I got my first one, curtsey of The Writing Hufflepuff (Thank you so much love :*) and I am gonna be doing that one soon! 🙂

  1. #_geekythoughts_recommends

Every month (around the 15th), I am going to start posting about a recommendation. It would ofcourse, be a book. It could be any book of any genre, but it will be a book that I have loved and treasured! I hope you are all going to love this idea as much I do! ❤

The Professional Goals 2015

I have been blessed with a good and an interesting job, soon after completing my Post Graduation. I hope to grow and learn more about the field that I currently work in.

For those, who do not know, I work as an Assistant Forensic Psychologist and I love my Job 😀

  1. PhD In Forensic Psychology

I got through a prestigious university in Australia but was unable to join due to personal reasons. But I am hoping that it will happen this year!

Yup. This is the only goal. Achievable, right? What do you think? 🙂

Personal Goals 2015

  2. Ahh! I loved this post. You had so many great titles listed. The Penryn books look interesting—I may have to research those and try it out. Have you ever read the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher? I think you might like it. It’s got magic, wizards, demons, fae folk, the works. And, though to a lesser extent, archangels and fallen angels.

Wonderful work on this blog! I look forward to more. ^^
