Cannon's Mine!!! <3

Cannon’s Mine!!! ❤

Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He’s also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she’s older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.

Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather’s legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette’s scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he’ll break all the rules to do it…

Review:

I connected with this author when I read her SBC Fighter series and the Men Who Walk The Edge of Honor series. And I fell in love. With her writing. With her characters. With the pure alpha males and the strong females in her books ❤

This is a continuation of her SBC Fighter Series but can be read as a standalone first novel in her new Ultimate Series.

This is a story about Cannon and Yvette. They both meet, young and bonded through a traumatic incident. Now 3 years later, they are both back, thrown together due to circumstances of Yvette’s grandfather’s death.

Cannon, wants a chance with the girl, whom he let go because she was too young. Yvette, wants to be known as a strong woman who can take care of herself believing that she was a “pathetic” victim before (like being kidnapped, almost raped wasn’t a good enough reason to end up crying on your friend’s shoulder!).

Cannon is loyal, Trustworthy, Protective, not to mention possessive. Nicknamed ‘The Saint’, he is courteous, and gentle with women after his experiences in his past (Yup, your curiosity gene is tingling, isn’t it? :P). Yvette is beautiful, kind and innocently naïve, even with the traumatic incident, honestly believing that she was a burden to Cannon (I would totally be a burden on him, happily *-*)

They have an explosive chemistry. And have a wonderful relationship. The best part about their relationships is that they both grow together. He learns to be patient, to be understanding while she learns that its perfectly okay to depend on those who love you, to be able show your true feelings and be accepted.

I especially love that Ms. Foster writes both Cannon’s and Yvette’s POV, which actually makes you feel as if you know the whole story and not just a part of it. You get to understand the reasons behind each characters actions and behavior, instead of just assuming them. You can scream and shout at either of them, for assuming the exactly what we would have assumed if we didn’t know both sides’ POV!

I also love the fact that the author has given backgrounds to at least some of the secondary characters, forming the base of their own happy endings. It also makes you feel as if you are getting to know the whole family and falling in love with them at same time! (Yes, she is another author whose every single book I have read :P)

Rating and Recommendation:

4.5/5 Stars

This is an adult romance novel, and thus has Mature Content, there I recommend it to 18+ year olds.

And if you love a little humour, a little mystery and with Alpha Males being bossy yet sweet to equally strong females, then this book (and others by this author) is definitely for you!
